Reliable Street, once a warehouse, has transformed into a nonprofit organization fostering an entrepreneurial incubator and community space with live music, food, coffee, and a bar. To enhance community engagement, we designed SHIFT—a dynamic public installation integrating seating, play areas, and leisure spaces for all ages. Featuring caves, tunnels, climbing structures, and tabletops, it offers a welcoming retreat. At night, a solar-powered lighting display, donated by local Ames company PowerFilm, highlights the structure’s color and texture, ensuring visibility and a vibrant atmosphere.
